Job Description
Indy Rooftops is a family-owned roofing company seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our growing team. We value integrity, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Position Overview
Prepare accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates for commercial roofing projects, including new construction and reroofs. Work closely with general contractors, suppliers, and our production team throughout bidding and project handoff.
Responsibilities
· Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements.
· Complete detailed takeoffs and estimate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
· Request and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes.
· Prepare proposals with clear scopes, exclusions, and alternates.
· Track bid deadlines, submit proposals, and follow up with general contractors.
· Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and scope reviews.
· Communicate questions and clarify project requirements with general contractors.
· Maintain organized estimating files and bid records.
· Review contracts for awarded projects and coordinate handoffs to production.
· Remain available during production to answer questions about the estimate and scope.
Qualifications
· 2–5+ years of commercial roofing or construction estimating experience.
· Knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including TPO, PVC, EPDM, and metal.
· Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents.
· Experience with estimating and takeoff software; The EDGE, STACK, and JobNimbus experience is a plus.
· Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
· Clear communication skills and the ability to manage multiple bids.
· Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
· Valid driver’s license.
